How to Use The Grocery Shopping Game Kit

Cut out pictures of their favorite items from magazines to practice those fine motor skills. Have them trace the logo with a pencil or write the product on the included blank shopping list. They can fill their cart all on their own and help with the family shopping. Using scissors to cut out pictures of foods for the shopping list can improve those fine motor skills.
Wrap math into the activity into the shopping game by giving each item a price, such as a penny for oranges but two pennies for chips. If they have two oranges and one bag of chips, how much will they have to pay at checkout? Give them a budget of 5 or 10 cents to have a party for their pets, dolls or action figures.
Extend the play and let them help with the holiday shopping. The Holiday Planner Kit (50% off with code VKZ50) has lists for littles to put in what they want for the holidays, a place to write down what they think would be a good gift for grandparents, friends and teachers, stocking stuffer ideas and more.
Laminate the items to put in the cart to use over and over again. Print the carts in black and white and let them color the carts or personalize them with stickers. Print out two carts and staple them together to make an envelope. This will easily hold all of the items they plan to buy.
If you have a small crayon or juice box, cut the top off of the widest side. Glue the shopping cart image to either side to make a cart. Cut a straw to size to fit between the handles. Use a hole punch to put holes in either side and slip the straw through. This will make a great handle to complete their personalized shopping cart.
For the holidays, have the kids cut out toys they want or items they would like to buy for family and friends. Create an envelope with the cart and mail it to family members who want to see their wish list! For gifts the kids want to buy, they can cart their little cart full of ideas to the store as a reminder!

Learn Through Play Lots of Ways

Littles learn a lot just by being with you and playing games. Just 15 minutes of spending time spelling funny words or tracing numbers can lead to better reading, writing, comprehension, critical thinking and math skills and those important fine motor skills.

The Dinosaur Number Review can help them work those little muscles as they trace, color and count up to the number 20. Let them trace known and new words in a fun way with the Farmhouse Spelling Kit.
